The International House of Pancakes was founded in 1958 by Jerry Lapin and his brother Al Lapin, Jr. The first restaurant opened on July 7, 1958, in Toluca Lake, California. IHOP restaurants feature moderately priced, high-quality food and beverages with table service in an attractive comfortable atmosphere. Although IHOP is best known for its award winning pancakes, omelets and other breakfast specialties IHOP offers a broad array of high quality lunch, dinner and snack items as well.
